Brief Description

The Indian Navy invites online applications from unmarried male and unmarried female candidates for enrolment as Agniveer (SSR) for the 02/2025, 01/2026, and 02/2026 batches under the Agnipath scheme. This is a four-year engagement, during which Agniveers will be imparted with rigorous military training. The selection process involves shortlisting based on the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET), followed by a Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and a Medical Examination.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • Qualified in 10+2 with Mathematics & Physics from a recognized Board with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • OR Passed a three-year Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Automobiles/ CS/ IT) with 50% marks in aggregate.
  • OR Passed a two-year Vocational Course with Physics and Mathematics with 50% marks in aggregate.

Age Limit & Marital Status

  • Age Limit: Candidates must be born between 01 Jan 2005 and 30 Jun 2008 (both dates inclusive).
  • Marital Status: Only unmarried male and unmarried female candidates are eligible.

Service Details & Pay Structure

Terms of Service

  • Agniveers will be enrolled for a service duration of four years.
  • On completion of four years, up to 25% of each specific batch of Agniveers will be enrolled in the regular cadre of the Indian Navy.
  • The remaining 75% will be discharged and will receive a "Seva Nidhi" package.

Pay, Allowances and 'Seva Nidhi' Package

  • 1st Year: ₹30,000/- monthly (₹21,000 in-hand).
  • 2nd Year: ₹33,000/- monthly (₹23,100 in-hand).
  • 3rd Year: ₹36,500/- monthly (₹25,550 in-hand).
  • 4th Year: ₹40,000/- monthly (₹28,000 in-hand).
  • Exit Package: Approximately ₹10.04 lakhs (tax-free) as a 'Seva Nidhi' package after four years.

Selection Process

Two Stages

  • Stage I (INET): Shortlisting will be based on the marks obtained in the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET). This is a computer-based exam with 100 questions (English, Science, Maths, and General Awareness). There is a negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer.
  • Stage II (PFT & Medical): Shortlisted candidates from INET will be called for the Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Written Examination (at the rally site), and a Recruitment Medical Examination.
